Shooter targeting random highway motorists in Michigan

GasBuddy Blog -- A shooter is on the loose in Michigan, targeting motorists traversing near a major thoroughfare, and State Police are worried that more shootings could occur in the days ahead.

Shootings have already occurred, and while there haven't been many major injuries, police are worried that the shooter is aiming to cause mayhem. Michigan State Police have already beefed up patrols in parts of the I-96 corridor, in hopes of finding the shooter should calls start coming in to 911.

The shooter so far has put bullets in 24 vehicles, even wounding one motorist with a shot to the buttocks while he was driving, leaving him feeling a sharp pain, only to find out he was soaking in blood.

State Police are aiming to quell concerns...

Yesterday, he stood mute at his arraignment and a not guilty plea was entered for him. He's an unemployed geologist who moved back to Michigan from Kentucky, complaining of low-flying military helicopters on his property down there. The Kentucky authorities say none of his neighbors seem to have seen them.

They (Oklahoma) just passed a gun carrying law (Open carry) and now they say they can shoot back. In Detroit the crooks are already carrying...Not sure it would be helpful to have motorist shooting back with pistols at snipers with rifles.

I appreciate the fact that you put the news in the blog. My brother, the trucker, spends a lot of time in Michigan and has mentioned I-96 on occasion when we skype. Does anyone know what type of vehicle the nutcase targets or are the shootings seemingly random? I'll have to read more on this before I e-mail or skype Little Brother again.
